THE Tangerang Regency Government (Pemkab), Banten, has prepared a technical team to go directly to the field to investigate the causes of the landslide disaster that cut off village roads in the area.

Head of the Tangerang Regency Spatial Planning and Building Service Hendri Gunawan in Tangerang, Wednesday (6/11), said that the first step in carrying out the research was to directly check the conditions of the locations affected by the landslide disaster.

“We will bring in a team of experts from ITB to conduct research, we will also provide emergency treatment first so that landslides don’t happen again,” he said.

He revealed that this research effort needs to be carried out to find out the causes and conditions of the land in the area, because landslides often occur during the rainy season, even now there is still ground movement.

“Then the experts will be able to conclude, what is clear is that we will coordinate with the River Region Center (BBWS), because this is also their authority regarding rivers,” he explained.

He said that from the results of field inspections, there was damage caused by the landslide disaster, namely road infrastructure, houses and surrounding community facilities.

The government, he continued, will immediately repair public facilities damaged by landslides through proposed development planning deliberations. “What is clear is that tomorrow experts from ITB will probably check again to ensure that there are no further landslides.”

Hendri added that regarding the construction of a residential area carried out by the developer at the location of the landslide disaster, it had been carried out before the incident occurred, where his party claimed that the developer had carried out environmental impact analysis or Amdal testing in accordance with the regulations.

“That’s it, it’s just that the distance from the river to the housing is safe, from the AMDAL position it’s safe, so tomorrow the experts will first examine what kind of temporary solution to handle,” he said.

Previously, the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Tangerang Regency reported that the condition of Jalan Rancahaur, Karang Tengah Village, Pagedangan District, was cut off due to heavy rain which caused a landslide.

“What happened yesterday (Tuesday, 5/11) at around 16.50 WIB, the rain fell quite heavily which resulted in ground movement and landslides,” said the Head of the Tangerang Regency BPBD Fire Management Division, Agun Guntara.

In this natural disaster, there were no casualties, whether injured or dead. “Until now there have been no reports of fatalities,” he said. (Ant/J-2)
