Research & development: Deloitte MCC and UM6P shape the profiles of tomorrow

Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) and Deloitte Morocco Cyber Center have signed a scientific and technical cooperation agreement. This alliance aims to accelerate the promotion of scientific and technological research in cybersecurity in Morocco and on the African continent.

Train the talents of tomorrow and build unprecedented security solutions; these are the two main objectives of the agreement signed by Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) and Deloitte Morocco Cyber Center (Deloitte MCC), a Moroccan center of expertise specializing in cyber-security and a member of the Deloitte global network.

This alliance aims to accelerate the promotion of scientific and technological research in cybersecurity in Morocco and on the African continent. It will be implemented through three pillars. This involves the development of an academic course leading to certification and a diploma recognized at the level of the best international standards, and also the creation of research and development programs aimed at increasing innovation and anticipating the major transformations to come (cryptography post -quantum, use of artificial intelligence, etc.).

The third pillar of the partnership concerns the design of a professional integration path within Deloitte Morocco Cyber Center and more generally within the Deloitte network.

Through this partnership, the UM6P wants to strengthen its cooperation with the professional world by ensuring technology transfer to Moroccan and more broadly African companies. Hicham El Habti, president of UM6P, assures in this sense that “at UM6P, our adoption of digital as a catalyst for innovation is already bearing fruit.

Thanks to this adoption, our ecosystem of startups is constantly growing, and our academic courses in computer science, cyber-security or artificial intelligence are becoming national benchmarks. For our community of researchers and students, it is now necessary to combine these innovations with their concrete applications in the business world”.

For its part, Deloitte shows its willingness to support initiatives in terms of innovation, training and skills development in the field of digital security. Moreover, Imade Elbaraka, partner responsible for cyber activities at Deloitte France and Francophone Africa and Managing Director of Deloitte MCC, noted that “this new partnership allows the construction of a bridge between the academic world and that of the company, thanks to the support of public institutions and the State.

This merger is, in our opinion, the only way to create ecosystems capable of training and maintaining talents with a high level of expertise while promoting the emergence of new attractive economic models for startups, scale-ups or specialized investment funds. This dynamic is crucial for the strengthening of Moroccan and African digital sovereignty, which is essential to meet the challenges facing the continent”.

It should be noted that, within the framework of this program, particular attention is paid to the development of strategies, new capacities, tools and innovative technologies intended to better protect the economic fabric once morest cyber-attacks, in particular the systematic mapping of the level of risk, analysis of the threat and monitoring of the main attack groups, detection of possible compromises and response to incidents.
