MEXICO CITY.- During the morning conference this Friday, the president Claudia Sheinbaum announced the creation of the Rita Cetina Scholarship (Yucatecan teacher), support intended for all basic level students in the country.

The new SEP scholarship will be universal and will benefit all preschool, primary and secondary students enrolled in public schools, but it is important to highlight that it will be awarded gradually.

This program will begin gradually. For this reason, from October 14th to January 17th there will be information tables in public secondary schools of the country for parents, students and teachers to go.

Rita Cetina Scholarship: When does it start?

The objective will be to deliver 1,900 pesos to preschool, primary and secondary school students nationwide, as well as a additional 700 pesos for each child that low-income families have.

The requirements for registration will be announced in the coming days in the Benito Juárez Scholarships page with the goal that the cards will be delivered in January 2025 with the first deposits.

Who is Rita Cetina?

Rita Cetina Gutiérrez was a teacher, poet and literary manager. He was born on May 22, 1846 in Mérida, Yucatán.

She taught classes in the state and laid the foundations for female emancipation in 19th century Mexico. He dedicated himself to teaching women and young peopleas well as in the management, editing and writing of literary projects, which they encouraged more women to be part of the literate world, dominated by men.
