Request your pension directly online, via mypension.be

The mypension.be site has been enriched with a new functionality: it allows you to submit a pension application online and follow its progress.

Belgians have already been able to apply for their pension online since 2012, but they often had to go through several sites. “The direct request for a pension, via mypension.be, which makes it possible to centralize the process, constitutes a big step for citizens”, rejoiced Sarah Scaillet, general administrator of the Federal Pensions Service. The request is being made in five steps only.

Even if mypension.be is very successful with the public, “we remain attentive to the digital divide“, underlined the Minister of Pensions, Karine Lalieux (PS). “Our advisors have followed or will follow training to guide citizens in digital matters. They can also request a digital mandate to have access to a loved one’s online pension file or give access to their file to a trusted person. In collaboration with other social security institutions, we are examining the possibility of extending this system mandate so that the field professionals can also help citizens and answer their questions in complete safety,” she explained.

“On mypension.be you can check the current date of your legal pension, consult the information relating to your supplementary pension, request your pension and consult your payments.”

What information do you have access to on mypension.be

A national communication campaign will be launched to remind people that mypension.be allows citizens to gain autonomy and independence by planning their pension throughout their career, thanks to simulations and by simplifying their procedures. On mypension.be, you can:

  • Check the date your legal pension starts and the earliest date you can take your pension (anticipated, therefore) and obtain a simulation of the amount of your legal pension (gross amount, excluding inflation, calculated on the basis of a fictitious career, therefore assuming that you will work until the legal age and under the same conditions as ‘Currently).
  • Apply for your pension.
  • View your payments.
  • View information relating to supplementary pension rights that you have formed before, if you have left an employer/sector and left your reserves in a dormant pension plan. For each pension plan, you will see the pension reserve, an estimate of the amount expected when you retire and, where applicable, death cover.

For the rights you acquire through your current employerit is your pension institution or the pension plan organizer who provides annual report including this information.
