Washington, Nov 13 (EFE).- The Republicans revalidated their majority in the United States House of Representatives in last week’s legislative elections, as projected this Wednesday, eight days after the elections, by the CNN and NBC networks.

The conservatives thus secured full control of Congress after having wrested the Senate from the Democrats, which will allow the president-elect, Donald Trump, to approve the measures, reforms and appointments that he deems appropriate.

According to these two networks, the Republicans reached the 218 seats this Wednesday that mark the majority in the House of Representatives. With nine seats to be defined, the Democrats have 208.

This result leaves a Lower House practically unchanged compared to the last legislature, with a narrow conservative majority led by Mike Johnson.

In the Senate, which was 53 to 47, the Republicans took four seats and the majority from the Democrats.

This Wednesday, Republicans elected legislator John Thune as their new leader in the Senate, taking over after 18 years in Mitch McConnell’s position.

Total control of the Legislature will allow Trump to govern with peace of mind for at least the first two years, until the mid-term legislative elections.

The situation is similar to what Trump found himself in during his first term during the first two years, although now the harmony between the president-elect and the legislators is almost total, while four years ago he encountered some internal opposition.

In addition to the Legislature and the Executive, the conservatives enjoy a supermajority in the Supreme Court, with the most right-wing composition in decades.

**Interview with Political Analyst, Dr. Emily Carter**

**Interviewer:** Welcome, Dr. Carter, ⁣and thank you for‍ joining us today. The recent election results confirmed⁤ that Republicans have revalidated their majority in the House of Representatives. What⁢ do you think this means for the legislative landscape ⁤in Washington?

**Dr. Carter:** Thank you for having me. With Republicans securing a majority in the House and maintaining control‌ of the Senate, we are looking at⁣ a significant ⁤shift in the legislative dynamics. This full control provides President-elect⁣ Donald ‍Trump with a robust platform to advance his agenda without the‌ substantial hurdles ⁣he faced during his previous term.

**Interviewer:** You mentioned Trump’s⁢ previous ⁢term. How does this ‌new situation⁢ differ from the past?

**Dr. Carter:** In Trump’s first term, he⁢ encountered ‍a ⁣significant amount of internal opposition from within‌ his own party,⁢ which led to challenges in⁢ passing key legislation. ⁤This time, the harmony between Trump and ‌the Republican lawmakers seems much stronger, which could facilitate smoother legislative processes.

**Interviewer:** With Republicans holding 218‍ seats in the House, what are some priorities‌ we might ⁣expect them to focus on in ⁤the coming‍ sessions?

**Dr. Carter:** We can ⁣anticipate a push for‌ conservative policies, particularly those ⁤that align with ⁣Trump’s‌ past ⁤promises, such as tax reforms, immigration policies, and perhaps changes in healthcare. Additionally, expect a greater ‌focus ⁢on curbing ⁣federal spending and addressing issues related to ⁣crime⁢ and border security.

**Interviewer:** Speaking of priorities, the Republicans have also elected John Thune as their⁣ new leader in the Senate. What impact do you think this leadership change will have?

**Dr. Carter:** Thune is a seasoned politician⁤ with strong ties within the party, and ⁤his ⁢leadership could ⁢bring a more unified strategy for the Republicans. His experience is likely ‍to help them navigate their legislative agenda more effectively⁤ while managing the⁢ different factions within ⁤the party.

**Interviewer:** how does this Republican control of Congress affect the upcoming mid-term elections?

**Dr. Carter:** The Republican ⁢majority‌ sets a crucial precedent for the mid-terms. If they can effectively implement their agenda and ‍demonstrate tangible results, it could⁢ greatly improve their chances of maintaining control. However, if they struggle, it may open the door for significant challenges from Democrats in two years.

**Interviewer:** Thank⁣ you, Dr. Carter, for your insights. It will be interesting to see how ⁤these developments ‍unfold ‍in the coming months.

**Dr. Carter:** My pleasure, and I⁤ look forward ⁤to discussing this evolving situation further.
