Florida – The Republican National Committee announced that five Republican presidential candidates have qualified for Wednesday night’s primary debate in Miami. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, businessman Vivek Ramaswamy, Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina, and former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie are those trying to run for the third debate.
Former Vice President Mike Pence, who suspended his campaign last month, and North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgess will not be at the debate. Former President Donald Trump is once more skipping the debate, instead holding a campaign rally in Hialeah that will begin shortly before the debate.
To qualify for the debate, candidates must receive at least 4 percent in the polls — in two national surveys, one national survey or two surveys from pre-nominated states — and receive donations from at least 70,000 individuals before Monday’s 8 p.m. Wednesday’s five-candidate debate makes it the shortest Republican primary debate since February 2016. Wednesday’s debate is the first of the primary campaign.
