Dr. confirmed. Mona Eid, Obstetrics and Gynecology Consultant, said that reproductive culture is primarily concerned with medical examination before marriage to ensure a better life and avoid the transmission of certain diseases to children. Reproductive health means reaching the level of physical, social and mental safety for both sexes.

In her interview with the “Taste of Homes” program, Eid recommended the necessity of conducting pre-marital examinations as the first line of defense to secure the family, as any of its members contracting a disease will negatively affect the happiness and stability of this new entity.

She explained that pre-marital examinations are a set of laboratory tests conducted by both partners to detect the presence of any genetic diseases that may be transmitted to their children or the presence of infectious diseases that harm one of them, as well as raising awareness of the options available between taking the necessary precautions or seeking appropriate treatment methods to preserve the health of the new family.

She added that reproductive health is concerned with people being able to live a satisfactory and safe sexual life and being able to reproduce. It also relates to childhood, breastfeeding, proper nutrition, vaccinations, disease prevention, and non-discrimination between the sexes, then the teenage stage is concerned with health education, physiological and psychological changes, nutrition, public health, and avoiding Early marriage, and finally following the reproductive age stage, where there are physiological and psychological changes, periodic examination to prevent breast and cervical tumors, osteoporosis, and social care.

The obstetrics and gynecology consultant pointed out the benefits of family planning as the first building block and cornerstone of any society. Family planning helps reduce the risks of maternal death, neonatal death, and fetal death. It also helps improve the quality of life and well-being of family members and provides the psychological atmosphere for the child’s growth in a social, healthy, and psychological environment.
