English press reports blew up a heavy-caliber surprise that Manchester United had put Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe as one of the possible targets in order to replace Cristiano Ronaldo, who was close to leaving the club.
United have become furious over Ronaldo’s actions and are now planning their next step in allowing him to leave the club.
Ronaldo accused Manchester United of treason and trying to force him to leave, in addition to admitting that he did not respect his coach, Eric Ten Hag.
And the British newspaper, “Mirror”, reported that Manchester United are exploring opportunities to sign Kylian Mbappe, as they are ready to pay 150 million pounds to settle the deal.
She added that Mbappe has emerged as a potential target for United, but will strongly return the club to its financial resources, as the Red Devils are working on Ronaldo’s exit strategy following his last media interview.
United are one of the few clubs in Europe able to pay Mbappe £500,000 a week, the same wages as Ronaldo, along with important performance-related bonuses, to lure the young player to England.
Mbappe was due to join Real Madrid at the end of last season, but he backed out of the move, opting instead to sign a new contract extension with Paris Saint-Germain last May until 2025.
