British press reports revealed, today, Thursday, that the Liverpool administration will once more negotiate with Mohamed Salah, the star of the team and the captain of the Egyptian national team, to renew his contract.
According to the “Liverpool Echo” newspaper, which is close to Liverpool, the negotiations between the club’s management and Mohamed Salah will return once more in the coming weeks.
The newspaper stressed that the owners of Liverpool are not ready to destroy the wages, indicating that Salah’s desire was not implemented in terms of the salary he wanted for renewal.
Salah, 29, had previously announced his desire to stay with Liverpool, on the condition that he receive an appropriate financial salary.
Salah receives a weekly salary of 200,000 pounds, as “Mo” is in second place in the list of the highest in Liverpool behind Virgil van Dijk, who receives a salary of 220,000 pounds.
And press reports revealed earlier that Salah wants to get double his salary, but the Liverpool administration offered an increase of 15%, or approximately 230 thousand pounds, according to the American newspaper, “The Athletic”.
Salah’s contract with Liverpool is scheduled to expire in the summer of 2023, but the captain of the Egyptian national team recently announced that he will continue with the “Reds” until the end of his contract.
It is worth noting that Salah moved to Liverpool from Roma in the summer of 2017, where the deal was estimated at 42 million euros, in addition to 8 million euros in additions.
