Reports EBITDA of 59 million dollars, the highest since it operates in the country – El Financiero

During the first quarter of 2022the telecommunications company AT&T Mexico reported a EBITDA from $59 millionwhich meant that its operating flow increased fivefold, compared to the 11 million dollars registered in the same period last year and was 23 million dollars better compared to the previous quarter.

Its regarding higher operating flow reported by the firm for any quarter, since it operates in the country.

“We are excited to serve more than 20.5 million customers and continue to grow our profitability. In the first quarter of 2022, we reached the highest quarterly EBITDA since we arrived in Mexico,” said Mónica Aspe, CEO of AT&T Mexico.

He added that, despite what he called anticompetitive practices of the preponderant operator, referring to America Movil, “and the high cost of radio spectrum, the great team at AT&T Mexico is focused on serving our customers and growing our business. For this reason, we continue to advance in the deployment of our 5G network and increase the capacity in 4G LTE”, he pointed out.

In the first quarter of this year, the firm of American origin reported revenues of 690 million dollars, which represented an annual increase of 9.4 percent, due to higher growth in service revenues.

Los income from services of the firm in Mexico reached 490 million dollarsup 11.6 percent year over year, driven by growth in other services and subscribers.

AT&T Mexico reported that, equipment revenue was $200 millionup 4.2 percent more year over year due to higher sales.


For the first quarter of this year, AT&T Mexico recorded 20.5 million mobile phone users.

For Mexico, the operating loss was $102 million what one meant little improvement versus an operating loss of $134 million in the prior year quarter.
