Mexico City. In the midst of the fourth wave of Covid-19 infections, Mexico yesterday exceeded 300 thousand deaths from the disease and nine states will have a setback in the epidemiological risk traffic light as of Monday, three of which will turn orange, according to the Ministry of Health.

Chihuahua, which was in yellow in recent weeks, and Baja California Sur and Tamaulipas, which were in green, will turn orange, or high risk, according to the traffic light published by the federal agency and that will be in force from January 10 to 23 .

Sinaloa, Colima, Coahuila, Durango, Zacatecas, Yucatán and Quintana Roo, which were in green, will go to yellow, or medium risk, while Baja California, Aguascalientes and Sonora, which were already in yellow, will continue in that color. The rest of the country, including Mexico City, will be in the green.

Thus, three entities will be in orange, ten in yellow, 19 in green and none in red, according to the document.

Meanwhile, 28 thousand 23 new cases of the disease were confirmed in 24 hours, which means that infections continue to increase rapidly. In total, 4 million 83 thousand 118 cases have been confirmed since March 2020.

In addition, 168 new deaths were reported for a cumulative 300 thousand 101 deaths since the health crisis began. On the other hand, during the epidemic, 3,330,210 people have recovered from the disease.

It was reported that there are 128,929 people with symptoms in the country, that is, regarding 25,000 more than on Thursday and almost 50,000 more than on Wednesday.

Hospital occupancy rates are reported unchanged, standing at 19 percent for general beds and 12 percent for fan beds.

On Thursday, 669 thousand 25 anticovid vaccines were applied, for a cumulative 150 million 778 thousand 213 doses administered since December 2020.

With them, 82 million 220 thousand 553 people have been vaccinated, of which 90 percent have completed their vaccination schedule and 10 percent have half a schedule.

The secretariat invited the population to reinforce basic prevention measures to reduce the risk of contagion: healthy distance, frequent hand washing, as well as correct use of face masks, ventilation in closed spaces and maintain precautions in public spaces.
