Report: Xbox Series X / S will soon run a little faster.. Details

If you ever feel like your new Xbox Series X or S is taking a long time to boot up, there’s good news for you, as The Verge reports that the latest Insider build for the Xbox dashboard brings new, shorter boot animations, reducing the cold start time by regarding 5 seconds For newer Xbox Series X/S consoles.

With the latest Insider update, Xbox testers noticed the boot time is much faster than before, and later, on Twitter, Josh Munsee, Xbox Integrated Marketing Director, confirmed that the team worked on creating shorter boot animations, Josh says. The new boot animation is only 4 seconds compared to the original 9 seconds startup animation, reducing the overall startup time.

Xbox One consoles will also run faster, and moreover, these changes won’t be limited to the Xbox Series X and S, the older Xbox One will also get the new startup animation, says Jake Rosenberg, senior product manager at Xbox.

There is a catch, however, as the new startup animation will be shown when consoles are set to power saving mode rather than standby, so the total boot time into Energy Saver mode for Xbox Series X/S consoles drops to 15 seconds of 20 seconds.

Microsoft also recently introduced background refresh support for Energy Saver, Energy Saver mode is the default option, so you don’t need much to enjoy the new shorter boot animation, and there’s no word on when the new boot animation will be released, but, you can try it if you’re You’re running the latest Insider build from the Xbox Dashboard.
