A serious accident was recorded this Wednesday on the ring road, in the north of Bogotá. A dump truck and several cars are involved in the incident.
According to the first versions, the dump truck would have run out of brakes and rammed the vehicles in the road corridor. According to information from the Ministry of Mobility, one person died in the events.
“An accident with fatality occurs in the town of Chapinero due to a vehicle overturning on Av. Circunvalar with calle 84, North-South direction. The Traffic unit is assigned and the criminalistics group is heading to the point, ”he said on his social networks.
For their part, the Official Firefighters of Bogotá indicated that, at the moment, work is being carried out to rescue two people who were trapped in one of the cars.
“Firefighters from the Chapinero station and the Technical Rescue Team carry out maneuvers to rescue two people who were trapped in a vehicle, due to the overturning of a dump truck on Av. Circunvalar with Calle 85,” said the entity’s account.
The mayor of Bogotá, Claudia López, stated that officials from the Health and Mobility Secretariats are attending to the accident.
“Are already @Bogota Firefighters, @Health sector, @SectorMobility at the point attending the accident. We recommend that citizens avoid passing through the seventh road with 85 at this time, especially from the south-north direction, to give priority to the care of the accident and the transfer of the injured, “he said on Twitter.
