Report: ‘News 12’ reporter, summoned to a hearing before dismissal

News 12 reporter Furat Nassar, who covers Arab society, was summoned to a hearing before being fired. The main reason is not clear, but already with the beginning of the war he disappeared from the screen. This is reported by ‘Walla’ reporter David Wertheim.

The move comes in the background of various claims – from Nassar’s tweets – less favorable to Israeli ears. One of the things that caused a sort of internal conflict between the reporter and his friends at the news company. There was the error of the channel’s reporter Ohad Hamo who attributed Israel’s attack on a hospital in Gaza in the second week to the so-called fighting.

The company did everything to minimize the damage caused and Hamo even clarified himself on the broadcast and on social networks, however the journalist Furat Nassar spread and echoed for hours the initial version on social networks and it took him many hours to delete it. Which caused image damage to the Channel 12 news company by being very popular in the sector with hundreds of thousands of followers.

However, company officials tell Wortheim that “there is no connection to the incident from five months ago.” It should be noted that Nassar has been working in the company since 2008.
