A report from the Ombudsman warns that three illegal armed groups with which the Government advances a bilateral ceasefire are not complying.

Of the 21 violent actions who showed up between March 18 and April 17 2023, 16 were once morest the civilian population and five more once morest the Public Force.

Monitoring indicates that these violent acts are attributed to the Conqueror Self-Defense Forces of the Sierra Nevada; The Second Marquetalia by Iván Márquez; and the Central General Staff of Iván Mordisco.

The violent attacks occurred in Nariño; Cauca; Antioch; Cauca’s Valley; Casanare; Arauca; Putumayo, Amazonas and the town of Sumapaz in Bogotá.

From the Ombudsman we call on the illegal armed groups to respect the ceasefire and stop all their actions to guarantee the fundamental rights of the communities. These groups must guarantee the commitment to the peace process that the Government is carrying out”, stressed Carlos Camargo.

The Ombudsman’s Office will continue to monitor the ceasefire.
