Report: Biden will not retire before Netanyahu’s speech to Congress

Against the backdrop of increasing pressure on the President of the United States Joe Biden to withdraw from the presidential race, the “New York Times” reported tonight (between Friday and Saturday) that Biden is beginning to consider the possibility, but may postpone the decision until after the visit of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Washington next week.

According to the publication, while Biden and his team insist that he will run in the November 5 election against Donald Trump, his associates say in private conversations that he is “increasingly accepting” the fact that he may not be able to do so.

“He will not want to give Netanyahu the satisfaction”

The pressure on Biden began following his appearance in the televised confrontation with Trump three weeks ago, and his confused statements in his appearances since then.

According to the New York Times, Biden advisers believe he will delay the decision at least until after Netanyahu’s speech to Congress on Wednesday. The explanation? The president “will not want to give Netanyahu the satisfaction (of his retirement) in view of the strained relations between the two on the background of the war in Gaza.”

The report emphasizes that as of this moment, Biden has not changed his mind about running in the elections. Sources close to the American president even say that those who pressure him to resign may get the opposite result, since the pressure may make him insist on running for president.

At the same time, reports of possible retirement appear daily. Reuters reported that Biden is seriously considering retirement, and according to many Democratic sources, retirement is only a matter of time. The “Washington Post” published that former President Barack Obama told his associates that Biden should seriously consider his chances of winning the election.

In addition to this, reports have been published according to which Biden is no longer ruling out the possibility of retirement amid the growing fear in the Democratic Party of failure on November 5.
