Repairs to electric cars are often particularly expensive

In Allianz’s view, car manufacturers in particular are now called upon to ensure that insurance premiums for e-car drivers do not increase unnecessarily. They should design cars in such a way that the workshop bills are as low as possible following accidents or other damage. Crash tests in the Allianz technical center have shown that this is possible: “Manufacturers can build electric cars that are easy to repair,” says Reinkemeyer. “We crashed an electric car that even had lower repair costs than a similar combustion engine.”
