Repairs begin on a key stretch for agricultural transport in Itapúa

Asuncion, IP Agency.- The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) has begun work on a strategic section of the PY07 route in the department of Itapúa, covering a 37.5-kilometer sector that crosses the districts of Capitán Meza, Edelira and Natalio.

The intervention, carried out by the team from the La Paz Asphalt Plant of the MOPC, is currently being developed in the Natalio area and includes, for the most part, patching with surface treatment, adapted to the specific needs of each section of the road.

It is also planned to lift and replace the base in areas affected by subsidence, in order to ensure the transitability of the route.

This project directly benefits the three districts mentioned, known for their high agricultural production. The recovery of this road, which has been in service for more than four decades, is essential for the efficient transport of agricultural products to Ciudad del Este and the Friendship Bridge, facilitating trade with Brazil.

With this project, the MOPC reaffirms its commitment to the maintenance and improvement of the country’s road infrastructure, especially in areas of high productive and commercial importance.
