It is the result of a collaboration between a photographer and a tattoo artist. “Repairing Scars” can be discovered until October 27 at the Louis Aragon media library in Rive-de-Gier in the Loire.

It’s the story of two artistic talents coming together to repair scars. One defines herself as a “soul photographer”, the other is a tattoo artist. The project? Restore confidence to women suffering from breast cancer. The exhibition “Repair the scars” can be discovered at the Louis Aragon media library in Rive-de-Gier in the Loire until October 27.

“We realized that we had a lot of things in common, the same values, the same desire to repair others in our own way, according to our own sensitivities and skills,” says Irene.

The exhibition offers the view of one on the work of the other; In addition to the photos taken in Irène’s studio, Chloé presents some audio portraits like that of Anne-Sophie. “There was sometimes fear, anger, physical pain, the guilt of imposing the illness on my loved ones,” can we hear.

“We remain convinced that we are alone in this tragedy and that the way we experience it is not shared, cannot be shared. The idea is to come out of this isolation and share things that can seem very difficult in a bright, resilient, joyful way. assures Irene.

The photo then becomes therapeutic just like the tattoo covering the scars on which this exhibition lifts the veil.

Chloé remembers the tattoo done on one of these women suffering from cancer. “The scar was very complicated. It was a failed reconstruction. The project was quite complex and technical. So already when I told her it’s okay I’ll take care of it she was already very moved and when we finished the tattoo and she saw herself, she told me: I’m transported, I’m a new woman and you are part of me now”.

The tattoo artist regrets that few people are aware of this covering technique. “At the Lyon-Sud hospital when I tattoo, the nurses tell me that they didn’t know we might do that.”
