« Faced with the decline in organic activity, there is overcapacity on all of our sites. This decline in the market forced us to reorganize ourselves and it is now the Ancenis site which will carry out the slaughter and packaging of organic poultry. », explains Arnaud Poupart-Lafarge, director of Galliance, the group to which the Ancenis slaughterhouse and the Bodin packaging factory in Sainte-Hermine belong.
From October, the Sainte-Hermine site will be transferred to the group’s establishments. The transfer will take several weeks for the entire production to switch over and then the site will close.
Prior negotiations which led to agreements were carried out with the unions and the 100 employees affected by the transfer of production have the choice of working on another site or signing the social plan put in place. “ I would like to add that there are no changes or disruptions for our customers who work with Bodin. Bodin is not closing, he is moving », specifies the director.
