Reorganizing CH Media: New ICT Department & Divided Entertainment Sectors

The CH Media media group is reorganizing. The company thus created its own ICT department under the direction of CIO Alex Greuter. In addition, CH Media divides its Entertainment sector into two branches: national TV and regional electronic media.

CH Media is reorganizing its various divisions. The media group is establishing its own ICT department and is reorganizing the ICT services previously provided by the NZZ, the group indicates in a press release. Note that CH Media, a joint venture of AZ Medien AG and the NZZ group, mainly publishes regional media in German-speaking Switzerland, but also the pure player Watson.

Alex Greuter will take over as head of the new ICT department. He is expected to take up his role as Chief Information Officer (CIO) no later than April 1, 2024. According to CH Media, he brings approximately 25 years of experience in developing and implementing IT strategies, change management, cybersecurity and digital transformation of businesses. Most recently, Alex Greuter worked as CIO for Mobility. According to his Linkedin profile, the future CH-Media-CIO also held various IT management positions at Agility for around 12 years. Previously, he worked for Panalpina and UBS.

Entertainment unit becomes two separate divisions

Additionally, CH Media divides the company’s Entertainment unit into two sectors: National TV and Regional Electronic Media. The current head of the Entertainment division, Roger Elsener, will leave CH Media as part of the restructuring.

Florian Wanner will now be responsible for the regional electronic media sector and will serve on the company management from January 1, 2024. The media group is still looking for a replacement for the new national TV department.
