From Monday, Bolt electric scooters are back on the streets of Tallinn and Tartu, and the bikes will arrive in other cities, including Haapsalu, in the coming weeks.
According to Karl Apsolon, head of Bolt’s Estonian scooter division, starting the sixth season, we are happy to say that electric scooters have become part of the transport system. “Riding an electric scooter or bicycle is undoubtedly the most convenient, fastest and most environmentally friendly way to move around the city. The demand for them grows every year, so our goal is to constantly improve the service,” said Apsolon.
When renting scooters, it is mandatory to follow the traffic rules, you must not be drunk while riding the scooter and the scooter is intended for one person. Bolt scooters can be rented by people at least 16 years old.
Last year, the number of scooter accidents decreased by 18 percent, and Apsalon believed that this was due to the introduction of various safety measures. For example, you can no longer ride multiple bikes on one scooter, and the company has limited the speed of vehicles on weekend evenings.
Scooters are available in seventeen Estonian cities this season: Tallinn, Tartu, Pärnu, Haapsalu, Kohtla-Järve, Narva, Jõhvi, Rakvere, Viljandi, Võru, Kuressaare, Maardu, Sillamäe, Narva-Jõesuu. Paide, Valga and Türi will be added as new places this year.
