Daniel, a children’s artist known for his educational character “DaPinty”, experienced a weekend of extreme contrasts. After a successful participation in the Flower Fair, where he delighted children with his performance at the “A World of Colors” event, his happiness turned into tragedy.

On Sunday night, while returning with his companion from a visit to a friend in Copacabana, the vehicle they were travelling in was violently hit by a rock thrown from the road. The incident occurred on the Barranquilla bridge near the UdeA and left Daniel seriously injured. The impact caused a severe fracture in his arm, leaving him immobilized and in a state of shock.

Extreme pain and desperation led Daniel to faint, while his companion tried to understand the situation. Amid the chaos, several suspicious individuals approached the vehicle, creating a fearful atmosphere of robbery. Daniel reported that this form of attack seems to be part of a criminal pattern in the area, where criminals use rocks to attract drivers and then rob them.

Fortunately, Daniel and his companion managed to escape and went to the Pablo Tobón Uribe Hospital, where the artist received urgent medical attention. After being stabilized, he was diagnosed with a fracture that will require surgery and a long rehabilitation. Despite the severity of his injury, Daniel expressed his gratitude for life and the support he has received from friends and followers, who have started a fundraising campaign to cover his medical and living expenses.

In an emotional statement, Daniel reaffirmed his commitment to early childhood education and his desire to continue his work despite the challenges. “Education has the power to transform lives and societies. My mission is to continue to provide hope and positive content to children,” he said.

This is with the intention of preventing more people from continuing to harm society.

He also called on the authorities to take urgent action against these acts of violence that have caused harm to other people in the same area. “It is alarming that situations like this are repeated without effective action being taken,” he concluded.

As he prepares for his scheduled surgery and faces a challenging recovery, Daniel remains hopeful of returning to his educational work soon. His bravery and commitment continue to inspire those around him, while the community hopes that authorities will act to prevent future attacks and ensure road safety.
