Renowned chicken franchise closes its branches in Illinois: Find out why

The famous chicken franchise KFC closed eight stores in Peoria and Rockford in the state of Illinois in USA.

A spokesperson for the store confirmed the closures in a statement, saying the decision was a difficult one for the franchisor.

Why did the businesses close?

The spokesman said the decision of the owner of the eight stores was due to economic problems and the little money that would be coming into the stores.

However, the closure could be temporary as they are looking for new owners who want to buy the fast food establishments to reopen them in the aforementioned state.

It is the leading brand specializing in chicken products with more than 17,000 restaurants worldwide and headquartered in Louisville. It belongs to the YUM! group, which includes the fast food chains Pizza Hut and Taco Bell.
