The Government of Zapopan delivered the renovation of Zaragoza Street in the San Francisco neighborhood, Tesistán delegation, whose work was chosen by the citizens through the citizen exercise of the 2022 Participatory Budget, with more than 18 thousand votes.
Municipal President Juan José Frangie Saade pointed out that this work will directly benefit more than six thousand inhabitants of the neighborhood. The Mayor highlighted that Zapopan occupies the first place nationwide in carrying out these citizen exercises.
“We are the first place nationally; No municipality of the 2,500 has it. This Participatory Budget exercise and these works are thanks to you who are eager to improve your community.”
The remodeling of the street consisted of the comprehensive paving with hydraulic concrete of the 330 meters that correspond to Zaragoza Street at its intersection with Puebla Street. In this section, safe crossings, sidewalks with universal accessibility, bollards were placed and the drinking water and drainage lines were replaced.
Vladimir Tostado Rico, director of Citizen Participation, pointed out that there are still six works missing that will be part of the 2022 citizen exercise, which will be delivered before the end of the year, but he recognized the work that citizens do to improve their communities.
“This work on Zaragoza Street is from the 2022 Participatory Budget and was ranked number two and that is a very important position because it means that the citizens agreed and achieved a good position so that this work might be carried out.”
The investment for the renovation of Zaragoza Street was seven and a half million pesos.
More than 100 million pesos have been invested in the area and among the main actions stands out the intervention of Valle de Tesistán Street, from Bellavista Street to Pino Suárez Street and in its second stage, from Pino Suárez to Juan Gil Avenue Valued.
The construction of Community Development Center number 6, in the municipal agency of Santa Lucía, is another of the Municipal Government’s efforts to improve the quality of life of the residents of that area. With actions like these, Municipal President Juan José Frangie reaffirms his commitment to reducing social inequality and rebuilding the social fabric.
