St. Polten (OTS) – Due to the massive road damage, the L 7282 state road between the L 7275 and St. Oswald (Melk district) had to be renovated. The construction measures were carried out under traffic with a half-way roadblock and during the asphalting work with a total roadblock and a local diversion. The work was carried out by the Persenbeug road maintenance department and private construction companies in a construction period of around two months. The total costs of around 195,000 euros were borne entirely by the state of Lower Austria.
The L 7282 was renovated over a total area of around 5,000 square meters while retaining the existing lane width of around five meters. After pre-profiling the old structure (to compensate for the roughest deformations), an asphalt fleece was laid and the new bituminous layer was applied on top of that. Finally, the verge and the guard rails on the valley side were adjusted to the new conditions.
