Requests have been exploding for a few months and the system would be a victim of its own success. Moreover, it is already the second time this year that Urban has no more money to pay the premiums. Already at the end of May, we learned that Urban had already processed almost as many bonuses in five months as over the whole of the previous year and that the 11 million euros planned for the whole of 2023 had already been awarded.
In the process, the regional government took over the portfolio for the first time. An additional 6.6 million euros were injected into Urban this summer, which was used to pay the bonuses which had been promised and which were then overdue.
Today, we therefore find ourselves in the same situation, with an envelope once more dry and more than 600 files accepted but blocked awaiting payment. At Urban, we are also waiting before accepting the granting of new bonuses.
