The mandate of the members of the office of the national assembly, other than the president, was renewed by the deputies, on Saturday March 08, 2023, in the hemicycle under the chairmanship of President Seini Oumarou, reports the ANP.
In accordance with article 15 of the rules of procedure, the members of the office of the national assembly are elected each year at the 1st ordinary session. These elections must take place before the end of their mandate.
At the end of the polls, the Parliamentarians respectively elected the 15 members who form the new office. These are vice-presidents, parliamentary secretaries and quaestors for a period of one year, ie 12 months renewable.
This new office is composed in addition to President Seini Oumarou, Mr. Kalla Ankourao, 1st vice-president, Mr. Alkabouss Jalaoui 2nd vice-president, Mr. Zakara Karidio 3rd vice-president, Mr. Mahaman Laouali Bako Galadima 4th vice-president. president, Mr. Oumarou Yahaya, 5th vice-president.
It should be noted that the candidacy of Mr. Oumarou Hamidou Tchana for the post of 6th vice-president was rejected by 64 votes for, 95 once morest, and 3 abstentions.
In a message posted on his Facebook page, Ladan Tchana said: Against the consensual tradition of election of the Bureau of the National Assembly (AN) of the deputies of the PNDS-TARRAYA parliamentary group and certain deputies of the majority organized the vote once morest my candidacy for the post of vice-president of the AN as the parliamentary group Union for the Republic (UPR) which won 64 votes in favor and 95 once morest.
Of the 15 candidates in the running this morning, I am the only one not having been elected for the obvious reason of my regular denunciations of the failings of the regime in place.
I sincerely thank those who, from the opposition as from the majority, voted for my candidacy.
Thus, following the termination of the affermage contract of SEEN, of which I have been a shareholder since 2001, the PNDS-TARRAYA regime pursues me with its hatred because of my political commitment.
I repeat it here, that none of their maneuvers will silence me. More than ever, I will be the vigilant soldier of exemplary democracy and integral good governance.

As Quaestors, Mr. Issaka Issoufou, Laila Attoujani and Soumana Sanda were elected.
For the Parliamentary Secretaries, they are Aichatou Abba, Mr. Alio Namata, Fatima Doubou Dogo, Fatima Sambo Abdoulaye, Marma Mamadou Maina and Rakiatou Ali Beidi.
Work in plenary session of this session will resume on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, with on the agenda the presentation of the members of this office and the permanent general committees of the National Assembly.
