“Pfizer, which we have all considered for a long time to be part of the solution to solving health problems, is becoming part of the problem”. Polish Minister of Health Adam Niedzielski charged the American laboratory in an open letter to Pfizer shareholders, published on May 2, 2023.

In question, the tensions linked to the renegotiation of contracts for vaccines once morest Covid-19. With tens of millions of unused vials accumulating or ending up in the trash, several European countries are now publicly questioning the purchasing strategy vis-à-vis laboratories. It’s not a new problem. “I am aware of the difficulties faced by almost all member countries, due to the supply of excess doses and a falling demand”defended Stella Kyriakides, the European Commissioner in charge of health, at the end of 2022. “We are still working with contractual obligations, this data does not change, but we support you in all possible ways to renegotiate these contracts”she supported.
