Renault saw its worldwide sales (excluding Russia) fall by 16.5% in the first half, with 716,720 vehicles sold, the manufacturer said on Tuesday.
In Europe, in a market severely disrupted by shortages of electronic components, its market share fell slightly to 6.4% (-0.6 points over one year).
Sales to individuals, which are more profitable, increased by 13 points over one year to reach 53% of volumes.
Hybrid and electric cars now represent 36% of the brand’s passenger car sales in Europe, compared to 26% in the first half of 2021. Renault is aiming for a 100% electric range in 2030.
“Electrified markets are booming in Europe and Renault is well placed to meet this new customer demand with suitable products,” said Fabrice Cambolive, Deputy CEO of the Renault brand.
“In the second half of the year, we will accelerate the electrification of our range with the launches of the all-New Megane E-Tech electric, Kangoo E-Tech electric and New Austral,” he added.
