Renault enables 30,000 children to learn

Psychosensory activity, reading is important in the development of knowledge, general culture and stimulation of the brain, it is in this sense that Renault Morocco has made two “Bookmobiles” available to 30,000 children.

Launched in 2019, a first mobile library “LE BIBLIOBUS” was born. This project, led by the Al Jisr Association in partnership with the Renault Morocco Foundation and the Hiba Foundation, aims to bring children from peripheral public schools in Casablanca and Tangier (peri-urban and rural areas) closer to access to reading, culture and the arts.

In order to set up this major public utility project, Renault Master has been transformed into a LE BIBLIOBUS mobile library and goes on tour to dozens of public schools every year. On the program, educational workshops around books (eg: library discovery workshop, reading through games workshop, theater workshop, cinema workshop, etc.) A team of expert facilitators accompanies “LE BIBLIOBUS” and addresses educational themes in a fun and innovative.

“LE BIBLIOBUS” offers a wide variety of books (novels, science, stories, etc.), as well as an educational kit for teachers and school clubs.
Specific training for teachers is part of the program in order to sustain its action, via the book club of participating schools.
In 3 years, the “LE BIBLIOBUS” mobile library has been very well received by school directors, parents and children.

Building on the impact of this action on the beneficiaries and by popular demand, the Al Jisr Association, with the help of its partners, set up a similar action in 2021 called “THE DISCOVERY BUS” by making the acquisition of a Renault Master which has been transformed into a mobile library.
In total, 70 schools and satellite schools in Tangier (Fahs Anjra Region) and Casablanca, and more than 30,000 children have benefited from the mobile library program – “LE BIBLIOBUS” and “LE BUS DE LA DÉCOUVERTE”.
