Renault Duster Brazil: New Updates, Safety Features, and Equipment Revealed

2024-01-11 11:02:30

As we had been anticipating and as revealed by the photographs that went viral almost a month ago, Renault updated the second generation of the Duster produced in Brazil and has finally just presented it in the neighboring country, with slight aesthetic modifications, more equipment. safety and maintaining the already known engines.

Aesthetically, the changes are quite few, but they are visible: although the headlights maintain their format, the new arrow-shaped internal design with an LED lighting signature stands out. The grille also received small changes with a framework similar to that of the Oroch, but black and with some orange details with the name Iconic, in reference to the top-of-the-range version. It maintains the accessories already known in the current series, such as the defense on the bumper, which integrates two other auxiliary headlights. In profile, only the design of the alloy wheels changes, in this case with a two-tone diamond finish, and the mirror casing, in black with an orange trim. Finally, at the rear, the Duster will leave aside the headlights with an internal X-shaped design that many pointed out are similar to those of the Jeep Renegade, now adopting an arrow-shaped or Y-shaped design.

Inside there are no visible modifications, but there are in the equipment list: as standard, the entire range has LED headlights, automatic climate control with digital display, electrically assisted steering, start-stop system, rear parking sensors, multimedia with 8” touch screen compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay with wireless connection and reversing camera, electric windows and mirrors, cruise control and multifunction steering wheel. The most equipped versions add a camera with 360º vision, blind spot alert, rain and twilight sensor, wireless charger, presence key with push-button ignition and 17” alloy wheels, among other items.

Special mention for the improvements in safety: from now on, the entire range has 6 airbags, being on equal terms with the Kardian and responding to one of the main criticisms of the current generation of the B-SUV. It also has traction and stability control, ABS/EBD/BA, Isofix anchors and hill start assist.

Mechanically, contrary to the rumors that circulated in the Brazilian media, it maintains the well-known 1.6 SCe gasoline engine with 115 HP coupled to a 5-speed manual gearbox or the CVT automatic transmission with 6 simulated speeds or the 1.3 TCe gasoline engine with 163 HP. CV, also associated with the CVT automatic transmission. Curiously, the 4×4 version is still not offered in the neighboring country. Considering that the Duster arrives in our country imported from Colombia, it is possible that the update arrives somewhat late, towards the middle or end of the year.
