Renaud’s new single is out, here is our verdict


“If you buy me a drink” is the first title of metic released. The album will be released on May 6. It will be composed of 13 covers including this title initially popularized by Serge Reggiani.

Renaud is back. Three years following Les mômes et les enfants d’abord, his latest album, and the anecdotal parenthesis “Corona Song” launched during the pandemic, he unveiled the first title of metichis new album to be released on May 6th.

No original songs in view on this disc but covers, including this first single accompanied by its clip: “If you pay me a drink”. The title is signed Cris Carol for the music and Bernard Dimey for the lyrics. The latter is the author of the texts of “Syracuse” (Henri Salvador) and “Mon truc en plume” (Zizi Jeanmaire) to name only these two titles. It has been sung by the greatest, from Yves Montand to Charles Aznavour and even by Iggy Pop!

“If you pay me a drink” is one of the classics of Serge Reggiani who popularized this tune in the 70s.
