Bringing theater groups to a village in the Coteaux for a weekend to perform shows dedicated to children. It’s FestiMômes!
After 17 years of existence, the fame of “FestiMômes” shines on the former cantons of Pouyastruc, Trie, Tournay, well beyond the village of Cabanac where it occurs. After two years of interruption, the 15th edition will take place on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 September.
The mayor, Jean-Michel Chevalier, founder of FestiMômes, summarizes the principle: “we bring the theater groups to our house in order to open the shows to as many children as possible, at very low prices”. Karine Fabre, Emmanuelle Bru, Sandrine Bailli ensuring in a new team a co-presidency of the festival, wish to relaunch the dynamics. Teachers, they find that children do not go to shows. Also, they wish to widely disseminate information on this event to schools to make up for this lack.
For the time being, the office made up of the co-presidents, a secretary and two treasurers, surrounded by many volunteers, is dedicated to the logistics to be deployed: tents, fences, installation of companies, etc. The program is decided, the contracts are signed… Everything will be ready on the scheduled date, as long as the commitment and the will to succeed are present. A call is launched to complete the teams of volunteers and also from the sponsors because the team ensures compliance with the planned budget of €14,000.

Saturday, September 10 (ticket office opens at 6:30 p.m.)
7:30 p.m.: Brasstacouères, for all ages
8:30 p.m.: Man on the spoon, from 8 years old
9:30 p.m.: Brasstacouères, for all ages
Sunday, September 11 (ticket office opens at 2 p.m.)
2:30 p.m.: Let’s walk in the boxes, from 6 years old
3:45 p.m.: What we have left, for all audiences
4:30 p.m.: Lucy and Andy, for children aged 2 to 6
5 p.m.: Muppets Rhapsody, from 6 years old
Creative and fun workshops, free, on registration, on Sundays from 2 p.m., in the shaded park in the village center. From the age of one, children and parents can discover: Tibou yoga, Raconte carpet, Passing workshop, Circus workshop.
For adults, from 18 years old, a circus workshop and for future mothers, prenatal yoga.
The essentials: the zip line, face painting, pony rides, the farm on a walk, wooden constructions, mosaics, painting.
