The Vice President for Citizen Security and Peace and Minister of People’s Power for Internal Relations, Justice and Peace, A/J Remigio Ceballos Ichaso, reported details of the extradition of Gerson Guerrero, confirming that they have achieved the complete deactivation of the Aragua Train.
“At the request of the Venezuelan State, a series of criminals, as a result of all the operational activities to combat crime, such as Operation Gran Cacique Guaicaipuro, carried out during 2023 once morest criminal structures. We have achieved, through the requests we have made to Interpol, the capture of a dangerous criminal and the materialization of an extradition requested to the Kingdom of Spain, of the criminal Gerson Guerrero, who is the brother of the criminal, terrorist Héctor Guerrero,” he said.
He said that both were part of the dismantled organized crime structure called “Tren de Aragua.” Both are wanted by the Venezuelan justice system following committing various crimes such as kidnapping, extortion, terrorism, contract killing, human trafficking, money laundering, among others.
He explained that Guerrero was placed in custody by the authorities of the justice system. The Special Actions Brigade of the Scientific, Penal and Criminal Investigations Corps participated in this process and moved to Spain, “to receive custody of this dangerous criminal, and he is now at the disposal of the courts through the Public Prosecutor’s Office, duly detained, in accordance with international and national protocols.”
Likewise, three individuals were captured following the request to the Colombian authorities and all the work of international cooperation: Larry Amauri Alvarez Nuñez, wanted by Interpol red alerts by Venezuela, for extortion, criminal association, arms trafficking and terrorism; Juan Antonio Gil Diaz, alias “Toño”, who is associated with dismantled criminal structures, for drug trafficking, arms, and money laundering; Carlos Antonio Lopez Centeno, for aggravated homicide. Another individual was captured in Argentina, Guillermo Rafael Boscan Bracho, for extortion, criminal association, homicide, terrorism, arms and ammunition trafficking.
