WILLIAM P.J. MAHON
William PJ Mahon, 80, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away on November 19, 2023 in Lake Balboa, Los Angeles, California.
William was born in Chicago, IL to William Bryant Jennings Mahon and Helen Stuart Williams Mahon on July 7, 1943. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Margaret Anne Kaestner of Perth, Australia. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dr. Kathleen M. Mahon and his 39-year-old son, William BJ Mahon.
William went to school in Oklahoma City, OK and Casper, WY. He attended college at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, NM, where he was a member of the Kiva Club as a ¼ Native American of Osage and Choctaw heritage. He married Kathleen Melanie Kahn on April 8, 1966 in Albuquerque, NM. He worked as a car salesman for Ford for several years. He was a Practice Administrator and businessman for decades. He loved to travel, speak with people and he never met a stranger. He loved Dachshunds and Boxer dogs. He was a gastronome of all foods, particularly New Mexican cuisine. He was a Mason and Rotarian.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 1:00PM on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at Santa Fe Memorial Gardens, 417 Rodeo Road, Santa Fe, MN with Rabbi Martin Levy officiating. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11AM on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at King David Memorial Chapel, 2697 E. Eldorado Lane, Las Vegas, NV, with Rabbi Sanford Akselrad officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to the Ronald McDonald House of Greater Las Vegas. The family of William PJ Mahon wish to extend our sincere thanks to King David Mortuary in Las Vegas, Nevada and Rivera Mortuary in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
