Vaudois Jura – 50 years ago, a Parisian bus crashed into a ravine
The accident which occurred in 1974 between Sainte-Croix and L’Auberson caused eight deaths and 19 injuries. A second bus escaped the fall at the last minute.

This tragedy left its mark on memories. On January 20, 1974, a terrible traffic accident left eight dead and 19 injured at a place called Le Remblais, between the Col des Étroits and the hamlet of L’Auberson, above Sainte-Croix, in the Vaudois Jura. . But an even greater catastrophe was then miraculously averted. Today, the section is still considered dangerous.
