The great artist passed away today Peace be upon you At the age of 92, she is the author of the most famous song, “Oh, the most precious name in existence, O Egypt.” The funeral of the deceased is scheduled tomorrow after Friday prayers from the Khashoggi Mosque, and then she will be buried in the new Islamic Endowments cemetery in Beirut.

Her daughter, Samar Salman Al-Atafi, announced the news of the death through her Facebook account, where she wrote: “And the journey is over, Orouba… Mama is in God’s arms.”

It is noteworthy that the artist Najah Salam was born on March 13, 1931. She became famous for her talent during school concerts, and in 1948 her father accompanied her to Cairo.

This trip witnessed her getting to know the greats of art and the giants of music, including Kawkab Al-Sharq, Umm Kulthum, musician Farid Al-Atrash, Sheikh Zakaria Ahmed, and others.

In 1949, she recorded her first songs, “Hawla Ya Ghannam” and “Oh My Heart Hurt,” after which she launched her artistic career and sang in Egypt, Aleppo, Damascus, Baghdad, and Ramallah.
