Michel Drucker was very close to Sylvain Augier, who died on March 16 at the age of 68. In an interview for Midi Libre, the host paid tribute to the memory of this great professional who left his mark on the small screen.

Michel Drucker, Sylvain Augier’s best friend in the profession

We were very friendswe called each other from time to time”, explained Michel Drucker. The two monsters of the small screen have known each other for decades. “He wrote a section ‘France seen from the sky’, when I was doing Studio Gabriel. But I had known Sylvain for a very long time, I met him just following his paragliding accident.” he continued, recalling his friend’s accident in 1988 in the Hautes-Pyrénées.

Sylvain Augier then hosted the iconic France 3 show “La Carte aux Trésors” until 2005, the year he was ousted from the program. Despite everything, the two friends never lost contact. The deceased host explained on October 19, on C8: “I have kept a very close friendship with Michel Drucker, who is certainly my best friend in this profession. And for good reason, the two presenters had a common passion. “We shared hours in helicopters together”explains Michel Drucker.
