Remembering Sinead O’Connor: Funeral Procession and Tributes in Dublin

KOMPAS.com – Singer Sinead O’Connor was finally buried in Dublin, Ireland on Tuesday (8/8/2023) morning local time.

Sinead O’Connor fans, gathered to say goodbye by marching along a seaside promenade in Bray, County Wicklow, with the funeral procession past the home where Sinead O’Connor lived for 15 years.

The cortege will start at the Harbor Bar end of Strand Road and continue to the other end of Strand Road, following a private burial ceremony.

A statement made by the family on August 6, called on fans to line up on the seafront of Bray from 10.30am.

“Sinead loved living in Bray and the people in it. With this procession, his family would like to acknowledge the outpouring of love for him from the people of Co Wicklow and beyond, since he left last week to go elsewhere,” the statement said. The IndependentTuesday (8/8/2023).

Fans paid tribute to Sinead O’Connor’s legacy as a singer and activist by leaving flowers and messages at her former home in Bray, while other fans gathered to pay their respects at locations across London, Belfast and Dublin.

It is known that Sinead O’Connor, who is the singer of “Nothing Compares 2 U”, was found lifeless in the apartment she rented in Brixton, London, England on July 26 2023.

Sinead O’Connor has died at the age of 56.

Sinead O’Connor’s body was only returned to her family last week, following the autopsy process was completed.
