This Monday the death of the dubbing actor Rubén Moya Acosta at the age of 62 was confirmed. The interpreter was known by being the iconic voice of the cartoon He-Man and various Morgan Freeman characters.
The news was confirmed by the National Association of Interpreters (ANDI) of Mexico, without giving further details of his death.
“The National Association of Interpreters announces the sensitive death of the interpreter partner Rubén Moya. Actor with extensive experience in the world of professional dubbing. We send our deepest condolences to his family and friends on behalf of the ANDI Board of Directors and Surveillance Committee,” they wrote on social media.
The news marked different dubbing actors who decided to say goodbye to Moya on social networks. Among them, Eduardo “Lalo” Garza, known for being the voice of Krillin in Dragon Ball Z and Josh in Drake y Josh.
“Rubén Moya was one of the voices of my childhood,” he assured in one of his tweets, where he also noted that “one of the most emblematic voices in the world of dubbing has gone out. Rest in Peace the GREAT Rubén Moya”.
