Remembering Robert Kramer: Celebration of Life and Obituary | Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home

Robert Kramer, 91, from Fargo, North Dakota, passed away on February 17, 2024, under the care of Ethos Hospice in the comfort of his home. A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, February 22, 2024 at Fargo First Lutheran Church at 1:00 pm CT with Rollie Johnson officiating. The service will be livestreamed on the funeral home website.

Robert Kramer was born July 15, 1932, in New Salem, North Dakota, the son of George and Hattie (Hoesel) Kramer. He was raised and educated in New Salem, graduating from high school with the Class of 1950. Robert married Marilyn Gaebe on June 11, 1957, at Peace Church in New Salem. He went to work for Farmers Union Oil Company and managed stations in Hazen, Jamestown, and New York Mills, MN. He also held the position of District Marketing Manager for Cenex in Western North Dakota while living in Dickinson before retiring following 40 years. After retiring, Robert worked for the Fargo Dome and Fargo Civic Center for 26 years, along with managing apartments for Multiple Dwelling Management.

He belonged to the North Dakota Farmers Union and First Lutheran Church in Fargo. His greatest joys came from spending time with family and running into friends while working at various Fargo Dome events. He enjoyed his coffee group at the mall, sporting events, and especially NDSU Bison Football Game Day!

Robert is survived by his wife, Marilyn; their five children, Nancy Tisor, Fargo, Karen (Xavier) Dukart, Dickinson, Susan (Randy) Erickson, Mandan, Paul (Deb) Kramer, Bismarck, and James (Tammy) Kramer, Dickinson; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister. Carol (Joe) Huber, South Carolina; one sister-in-law, Ellen Gaebe, Washington; numerous nieces, nephews; and a special family friend, Jeanne Knuth.

Burial will be held at a later date in Peace Cemetery, New Salem, ND. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to the American Cancer Society.
