The death of the 85-year-old multi-talented actor, Pierre Collin, was announced Friday evening by his agency and his family.

“On July 27, 2023, theater man Pierre Collin died at the age of 85 surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife, three sons and many friends. The life and career of Pierre Collin will be celebrated by his loved ones in complete privacy at an upcoming date,” the agency shared in a press release.

Mr. Collin started his career in 1964 as an actor and director with Les Apprentis Sorciers.

Before having played in the cinema, in the comedy as in the drama, the actor played in the theater.

He was known to the public at the cinema thanks to The Great Seduction, the Sense of Humor et From father to cop.

On television, he was recognized for his role in Madame Lebrun, Unit 9, The Whole Truth, Virginia, Rumors et Life life.

He co-founded the Théâtre d’Aujourd’hui, and performed 13 plays there, including The tongue-to-tongue of rock dogs by Daniel Danis, directed by René Richard Cyr.

At the Théâtre du Nouveau Monde, he has participated in more than 15 productions, including The Misanthrope in the role of Alceste, The Miser, in the role of Harpagon, Women’s school et oranges are green of Gauvreau.

He has also appeared at the Festival TransAmériques, the Théâtre Denise-Pelletier, the Théâtre du Rideau Vert, the Théâtre Jean-Duceppe as well as in several other theatres, such as L’Espace Go, the Théâtre d’la Corvée, the Théâtre du Trillium, the Saydie Bronfman Theater, the Quat’Sous Theater, the TNO and La Licorne.
