LH Doskozil: “As a coach, Norbert Barisits has given so much to domestic football for decades”
Governor Hans Peter Doskozil is deeply saddened by the death of legendary football coach Norbert Barisits. “Norbert Barisits dedicated his life to football in a very special way. With 19 titles to his name during an impressive career with the clubs he has coached, he has become a coaching legend in domestic football, to which he has given so much over the decades. My sympathy goes out to his relatives in these difficult hours.”
Norbert Barisits passed away at the age of 66. The man from Siegendorf was one of the best-known and most successful football coaches in Burgenland. In his coaching career, which he began in Deutschkreutz, Norbert Barisits won a total of 19 titles with various Austrian teams. Three times in his career he rose with clubs in the second highest Austrian division.
