Who was Matt Ulrich? Is the cause of death known?
Arriving in the NFL as an undrafted free agent, Matt Ulrich played with the Colts between 2005 and 2006, his only two seasons as a professional player, in which he accumulated ten games, five in each year, and won the Super Bowl as one of Peyton Manning’s “bodyguards” on the field.
In his post-NFL life, Ulrich co-founded DexaFit, a company that uses technology to give people an analysis of their bodies. He was also chief growth officer and partner at Profitable Ideas Exchange, which helps companies accelerate their growth and explore new areas of opportunity in their industry.
“When I saw the confetti fall in Colts colors and was able to hold the Lombardi Trophy, with everyone on the field, I had to remind myself to take a moment for myself,” he said in 2019.
“A good piece of advice I got from someone says, ‘If you win, always take a moment to look back into the tunnel and just look at the scoreboard, look at the field and know that you’re at the top of sports.’ And that is an awesome feeling, in my case, in the NFL,” he added.
At the moment, the causes of death of Matt Ulrich, who was also enrolled at Harvard University as a consultant studying the health of professional athletes, are unknown.
