The entertainment world is dressed in mourning once more; A few minutes ago and through social networks, the death of the leading actress Joana Brito was announced, at the age of 79 due to kidney failure.

The news was released this followingnoon with a message that the National Association of Actors (ANDA) published on its official Twitter account.

“The National Association of Actors deeply regrets the death of our colleague Joana Brito Vitelli “Joana Brito”, a member of our union. Our condolences to her family, friends and colleagues. Rest in Peace,” she wrote.

During his long career, Brito participated in a large number of Televisa telenovelas and unitary programs, including “Corazón Salvaje”, “Cómplices al Rescate”, “Teresa”, “Mujer, casos de la vida real” and “La Guadalupe’s rose”.

It is also known that since 2022 he faced some health problems.

Who was Joana Brito?

Joana Brito Vitelli was born on April 25, 1944 in Chihuahua. In addition to her work on Mexican television, she graduated with a degree in Theater and Stage Direction from the INBA and stood out in the world of dubbing.

She is recognized for having lent her voice to all kinds of characters, both in children’s series and in movies. Some of her most remembered characters are: Koharu Utatane, in Naruto; East Kaio-Sama, in Dragon Ball Z; Mama Odi, in the Disney film “The Princess and the Frog”; Teacher Muriel P. Finster, in the cartoon “The recess” and the villain Morgana, in “The Little Mermaid 2”.

Brito remained active until 2016, when he definitively retired from the double due to health problems, since then he moved to Monterrey where he currently resides.
