Books – Ahmed Gomaa:
Since his departure from the post of Minister of Health and Population, in mid-2018, Dr. Ahmed Emad El-Din Rady has returned to his medical work, away from official sight except in rare cases. Until his shocking death on Monday evening.

Imad El-Din Rady died, at the age of 68, following a sudden heart attack, which necessitated his transfer to a Nasr City hospital for an unsuccessful “open heart” operation.

A young man in his twenties
In the early eighties of the last century, a young man in his mid-twenties stood before the Ethics Committee of the Medical Syndicate, following which he declared a doctor who was legally entitled to practice the profession. This young doctor specialized in the field of orthopedics, then he graduated in positions until he reached the dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams.

Radi was born on June 8, 1955. He obtained his Bachelor of Medicine in December 1985, his Master of Orthopedics in April 1987, and his PhD in April 1989.

He worked in the academic work sector at Ain Shams University, so he worked as a deputy of the Faculty of Medicine at Ain Shams University for community service and environmental development, then as chairman of the university hospital board, then as dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Ain Shams University.

Ministerial positions
Imad Rady had many prominent positions during his years within the Ministry of Health, in which he moved away from the “General Court”, to his continuous residence in the Doctors Training Center in Abbasiya.

In February 2018, Rady launched the expanded national campaign to eradicate Hepatitis C, in an effort to declare Egypt free of the virus that exhausted the livers of Egyptians, which he succeeded in in subsequent years.

The battle of the late Minister of Health during his tenure was during the first flotation of the Egyptian pound in 2016, when the demands of various pharmaceutical companies intensified, as he fought long negotiations to endorse the increase in regarding 3 thousand medicinal items out of 12 thousand, by 15% for local medicines, and 20%. for imported medicines.

During his reign, the Council of Ministers approved the comprehensive health insurance law, before it was sent to Parliament for discussion and approval later.
