Remembering Darren Kent: Game of Thrones Actor’s Life and Legacy

(CNN) –– Darren Kent, actor best remembered for his role as Goatherd on “Game of Thrones,” has died. He was 39 years old.

The news was confirmed by his agency Carey Dodd Associates by posting on his social networks on Tuesday: “It is with deep sadness that we have to share that our dear friend and client Darren Kent passed away peacefully on Friday. His parents and his best friend were by his side. Our thoughts and love are with his family at this difficult time.”

The agency’s post on Instagram added: “Darren was not only a talented actor, director and writer, but he truly was one of the kindest people I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet. It was a privilege and a pleasure to have been a part of his journey.”

Samantha Dodd confirmed to CNN Kent’s age at death. The cause of death was not reported.

Kent appeared in a memorable 2014 episode of the hit show “Game of Thrones.” His first appearance on screen, however, was a decade earlier, in the original series “Shameless.”

He was also in Kiefer Sutherland’s 2008 horror film “Mirrors” and 2012’s “Snow White and the Huntsman.” On television, Kent has starred in BBC’s “Community” and “EastEnders.”

He also appeared in this year’s “Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.” According to his IMDb page, the actor had six productions in development, including several shorts and the feature film “What I Know.”
