Remembering Charles ‘Chuck’ Caldwell: A Beloved Life Celebrated in New Orleans

Charles “Chuck” ‘Pops’ W. Caldwell, Jr., December 23, 1978 – August 27, 2023, New Orleans, LA. Charles, a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend, was born in Chicago, Illinois and grew up in Florida. He moved to New Orleans in 1997 where he was a standout offensive lineman for Tulane University’s football team. After graduation, Charles began a long and fruitful career in the information technology industry. At the time of his death, Charles was Director of Infrastructure for Penn National Gaming in New Orleans. He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Darnell Caldwell, daughters Jonnel Caldwell and Essence Henry, grandson Karson Caldwell, goddaughters Brianna Robinson and Journee Wells, parents Charles Sr. and Claudette Caldwell, siblings Cherise C. Caldwell and Christopher L. Caldwell, uncle Lee “Chip” Bey and aunt Denetrius “D” Bey, mother-in-love Lois Burke (Louis), brothers-in-love Renaldo Dordain and Terry Jerome Jr., and a host of family and friends who loved him dearly. The celebration of Charles’ life will be Thursday, September 14, 2023 (9 am viewing, 10am service) at Household of Faith Family Worship Church located at 9300 I-10 Service Rd. New Orleans, LA.
