After a long struggle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, former model and famous American photographer Brian Randall, partner of American actress Sandra Bullock, died at the age of 57.
Randall’s family released a statement announcing his death, saying, “It is with great sadness that we announce Brian Randall’s peaceful passing following a three-year battle with illness.”
The family added: “Brian chose early on not to disclose his illness journey and those who cared for him did their best to accommodate his request.”
“We are so grateful to the doctors who stayed with us to treat Brian Randall’s illness, and to the amazing nurses who became roommates, often sacrificing their families to be with ours.”
The statement concluded, “At this time we ask for privacy to grieve with the impossibility of saying goodbye to Brian. His loving family.”
Bullock met Brian in 2015, following he filmed her son Louis’ birthday party, and the relationship between them developed later, and they appeared publicly and frequently.
It is noteworthy that the two partners did not have children, but Bullock has two adopted children, Louis, 13, and Laila, 11, and Brian has a daughter from a previous relationship.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis is one of the diseases that have no cure, and it is fatal, and it develops at different speeds in patients.
